I have a Messiah2Pro and cant get sleep mode to work on my v0 jap, so a switch would be a much more foolproof way of switching the mod off.

I know it's simple to make, but what wire would i put the switch on?

Oh also, if the mod is not operating (switched off), is there still a way to detect it? I'm not 100% sure how the hardware scanning works on ps2 and xbox so i might as well ask

May I ask why you want to make a switch?

Is it because you have an original copy of a game that you want to go online with, but DNAs detects your chip?

i simply want to disable to mod so that i can overthrow the government, give money to ducks, and make dinosaurs roam the earth once more.

actually, i'm planning ahead. i'm still looking for a deadfully rare and expensive pc card type network adapter from japan, but once i get one i'll play originals online. i figure its too much trouble to mess with disc IDs and risk being banned or whatever they'll do next.

how does the region affect online gameplay? internet access (ISP) wouldnt affect anything but i would almost always be playing US games online with my Jap PS2 and my Jap network adapter, so im still confused about how that would work out..

Gotta love them ducks and dinos =D

As far as I know (And I have discovered yesterday), even if you do not have a switch or sleep mode to disable the modchip, you can still play original games online without going through the trouble of DNAS.

I discovered this by putting my Apple 2 (Old crappy chip without sleep-mode) into the PSX mode while putting in an Original NHL 2004.

To my surprise it did work.

So basically when I booted up my game in PSX mode, the modchip 'failed' therefore a DNAS modchip check wasn't registered.

I hope this information helps you.

As for the region problem, I'm sorry to say that there might be a chance that you won't be able to go online due to the jap/ us confusion. Perhaps with the 'Machine ID' change is released you can go around this probelem.

I have a schematic for putting a real kill the chip, after you boot the copy toggle switch, on a Magic 3.1, but that chip does'nt work on 10k consoles. I am VERY INTERESTED in getting a pc card modem and HDD for my own 2 10k's, but mine are a DTL-H10000 and a DTL-H10000S, these are programmers debugging consoles, so they boot "masterdiscs", and I don't know exactly how that's going to fly yet, however, first I need a lot more info on the hardware periphrials, how they work and all that, can you catch me up to speed with the rest of you stock 10k owners? I also have a stock SCPH30000 "flippity toppity" and the Japan build of the Swap Magic boot discs (my only dvd player, and an original Japan build "Action Replay", since it only plays Japanese DVD's without it, and the funny thing is that's all I ever use it for), so now I want all that good stuff that those stingy Japanese reserve for thier own home market, DVD drivers in my bios, and all...if I only knew how to use it all.
A toxic agent on a dangerous mission so secret, even I don't know what it is, because if I did, I would have to kill myself. I don't even know who's side I am on.
