inlink w/ ps2link.elf

i just downloaded theses 2 files... i installed inlink..it ask for my ps2 IP address... how do i get this?... i also burned the ps2link.elf to a cr-r and it loads and say sumthgin about a config file.. can sumone help me out.... thanks

oh , i also have it set up wit a router

hmmmmmm i believe ps2 menu-k tells you the ip address of your ps2!

I love PS2LINK 2.4 and INLINK, they work great together for me. Anyways, you're missing the IPCONFIG.DAT for the PS2LINK (Attached file below) and to find your PS2 IP address. Just put in the Network DVD that came with the Network adapter and it should tell you the IP address. And you have to put IPCONFIG.DAT with PS2LINK, in the same folder on your M.C.

And for the IPCONFIG.DAT, it uses the following format:
PS2IPADDRESS NETMASK GATEWAYIP

ok ... i know thw netmask is supposed to stay the same... but what about the gatewayip? is this my computers ip?

and also...i just went thru every single option on the network adapter cd and dthere is nothing that even remotly states the ip address of my ps2... its start up disc v2.5... i read that they may have changed it from the older version.....so is there any other way to get my ps2 ip addy?

I'm gonna try to help you out EspI69. I'm gonna go step by step on how to find your IP Address for your PS2.

If your PS2 is already set up with a router then put in the Network DVD in the PS2 and when it loads click on "Advanced" then click "Agree" and then click on "Network Tools" and then click on "Connection Test". Once you do that, it should connect and then press "X", then it should show everything about your PS2.

All you need is the IP address, Netmask, and Primary DNS.

The Primary DNS for your PS2 is the "gatewayip"

i appreciate the help guys, ... but i stil cant get this crappppp! im so close to just giving up... ive tryed ton of stuff. heres the deal so far...

i connected my ps2 to my router and from my router to my pc.

when i check the connection with the NA disc, it dont connect , so i hooked the ps2 straight to my cable modem and then it connected and gave me the following info:

IP: 65.244.30.203
net mask: 255.255.254.0
primary DNS: 198.6.1.195

i put those numbers into the IPCONFIG.DAT and still nothing it loads some otherip numbers on the black screen for ps2link

are those the right numbers? when my ps2 is hooked up to my modem... doesnt it retreieve the modems IP ?

my computer IP is 65.244.30.36

i witched the router wires... from pc to ps2 - ps2-pc... then my network connection as there is limited connectivity.... and i checked the network IP like this and it gave me 169.254.183.204 and a net mask: 255.255.0.0

what am i doing wrong.. im starting to go crazyyyyyyyyy , please help me out again lol thanks

that is your real ip not your routers ip. it will probalay be something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. to find it goto run and type cmd then which in the window type ipconfig /all for xp or ipconfig for 98 and nt. look and you will see subnet mask(255.255.255.0 or similar) and then you should see default gateway (192.168.0.1 or similar). now all you have to do is find you ps2's ip. you can go to config of your router to find your ps2. hope this helps.
