So for x-mas I got a ps2, I've never had a console since my sega genisis so i know nothing about ps2. Anyway, I got the ps2 slim, it comes with all you need to play online, the problem is that the playstation online disk broke in two before I set it up, I steped on it. Can I still get online with out it, or do I have to buy a new cd?

The Everquest online game disk lets you do the setup you can find used for about 99cents at ebgames or gamestop
-every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around-

Send it back to Sony, say it was in the box like that, and they should send you a new one. They're free anyway.
Most games, however, allow you to set up a Network Configuration file so you can play online. The Network Access Disc is only really so that you can set up a Central Station Account, meaning the downside for you at the moment, is that you won't be able to play Sony Games that use a Central Station account. (Socom 2 in PAL territories, KillZone etc..)

Yeah, as far as I know most games have their own way to create a network account. The bulk of the startup disc is the demos.
