Not entirely. I've used HDLoader for SOCOM:US Navy Seals and I'm able to get online with it. Not many people on it anymore, but it works. If it's DNAS protected, it's a different issue, but the older games that don't have it are fine.

    Yes, like I said.
Old games (or games with an older DNAS than 2.80 thought) should work with HDL, but there is nearly no game with one of those old Versions, where you still can get online.

Those old games still need to be DNAS-Patched with WINDIP, thought.

Still, thanks for your help. It seem the games work very well. Have been trying resident evil outbreak, sniper elite, COD WaW and god of war.
They seem to work really well. Like I have been told all the time about the network adapter; The loading is like a piece of heaven now. Big difference moving from pendrive to HDD in terms of loading.
Anyway got a couple of questions. Is there a way of quiting the game, without rebooting? Like if you could press a combination of buttons in the game and that would take you back to the hdloader screen or the main screen.
The other issue is that I have little memory. What I have in storage is 2x8mb sony maxdrive 116mb, 8GB cruzer and the harddrive. So my question is, is it possible for example to make the cruzer pendrive act like an original memorycard and of course it would be easy to save the game stats on the pendrive. Maybe it's even possible to do it on the HDD?
In winhiip when you install the iso to the HDD you can choose modes. What exactly is the uility doing? Does it patch the iso so that HDloder automaticly sets the mode?
Hope the last question is a valid one...
Is there anyone that has any experience with a codebreaker that can be used for HDD and how that works?

Here you will find the infos about Coderbreaker : Codebreaker patched to load HDL
So far CB 9.2 has the most patches available.

    To your space problem:

The safest method is to use uLE to backup the savegames to your usb device. So you will always have enough space on your MC.
Infos on how to use uLE will be found in the official thread unofficial LaunchELF v4.39 stable + v4.39aa beta (unofficial LaunchELF v4.42) (Most user use this method)

There is a project for using a usb device or the hdd as virtual MC but this needs additional patching of the game iso before transfering the game to the hdd.
Infos can be found here : HD Homebrew Project updated to 1.08!

Thanks northbear. Using uLE with save sound really good. Appreciate the link but I'm not really sure where to look exactly. My current uLE is 4.39 stable.
If there is a tutorķal then I would be happy if I get the link, if you can.

Since you are already using uLE i guess you know the basics of uLE.

The mini manual written by dlanor can be found here Mini manual for the LaunchELF FileBrowse (Mini manual for the LaunchELF FileBrowser)

Mark the savegame on your MC press R1 and select Copy after that go to the device where you want to save to and press again R1, choose psuPaste for pasting the savegame to a usb device or the hdd.

If you want to copy a savegame back to the MC mark the filename press R1 select Copy got to the MC press R1 and select psuPaste

    Best regards

I just want to emphasize to Asterix and others that your use of "psuPaste" above, instead of the "mcPaste" described in my 'mini manual', is really important. Some rare game backups may not work correctly if the "mcPaste" method is used.

This was unknown when I wrote that mini manual, and the discovery of those problems is what led me to develop "psuPaste" instead, so as to finally have a completely safe backup method for all gamesaves.

The "mcPaste" command remains in uLE anyway, for two reasons.
1: To support existing backups in "mcPaste" format.
2: A backup format with directly accessible content files is useful for other reasons than backup too, such as gamesave hacking.

But for safest gamesave backups the recommended method is always "psuPaste".

    Best regards. dlanor

Thanks for the good advice. I'm a little careful since even though the uLE is supposed to be stable I do not really trust it entirely. I had my armax screw my saves once and that wasn't very funny. But I understand what you say and I will test it.
Just one more question. I have been playing god of war for a couple of days now. I've noticed that the screen gets weird sometimes. Like the picture tries to update slowly diagonaly, moving from the upper left corner down to the lower right corner. It does this from time to time. I think it only does this when you move your character alot.
What do you think may cause this screen distortion? It's not severe but noticable.
The TV or the HDD? Maybe how the game is managed on the HDD?

If the TV is a CRT type, then the most likely cause is that some other electronic or electromagnetic equipment has come too close to the CRT tube.

An electron beam in a CRT is controlled through coils mounted around the 'neck' of the big bottle that every CRT is. The video sweep generators (horizontal and vertical) send current through those coils to produce a precisely controlled magnetic field causing the electron beam(s) to sweep the entire screen surface in a zig-zag pattern (sawtooth really), synchronized by the HSync and VSync signals while the video luminance and chroma signals modulate the 'strength' of the beam(s) (and colour 'jitter' for trinitron).

Any other strong electric or magnetic field coming close to the CRT can affect the beam path making it deviate in various ways, causing distortions in parts of the screen or for extreme cases the entire screen.

    Best regards: dlanor

Well I think you are somewhat right. It is a crt TV. But I do think it's the TV quality itself now when I think about it. It's pretty old. I normaly have the ati radeon 7000 graphics card connected with my TV. When I have been playing roms I did also get similar distortions and from time to time it gets a weird discoloration on the right of the screen. So I think the conclusion would be that it's the TV. Is it safe to say that the tube can have problems due to age or somekind of interference that has devolped inside the TV?
By the way what does the psu stand for in the psupaste command?
Last question I don't think I got an answer to. Have you had any experience with codbreaker 9.3 that can be used with HDD? Does it work is it safe to use?
