The sleep feature on newer chips allows you to play ORIGINALS online.

Backups, once patched, work online without disabling the chip.

You only need to complete the registration if you want to use games that require access to $ony Central. Most games do not require this so I wouldn't worry too much about registration at this time.

You can only play PAL games online on a PAL console, unless you change the machine ID. As mentioned this cannot be discussed here so your best bet would be to google for more information.

Now will a PAL console work online from Pakistan? I have no idea. I thought I'd read somewhere that $ony block IP ranges outside of the correct region but this may not be true.

True or False (based on what u said...):

1) if i patch a backup with the correct ID, i dont have to worry about my chip being detected ?

2) I only have to worry about my chip being detected when i am playing an original...?

where can i get the pattern of NTSC/PAL IDs

they dont have a patten like DNAS you need an actual one form someones NTSC machine.

there is a very simple pattern that i found on a forum some days ago, that everyone over there says it works !!

....

but my lips r sealed, cuz all forums i know, dont allow to talk about it, so sorry

i am gonna try it when i get my DSL connection hopefully soon

i just found that info but i am getting very mixed up responses to weather there machine has to be the same version

There's no 100% firm proof that your machine version has to match the version that you want to import the ID from, but you're always better to use IDs from a console version that is either the same or as close to as possible.

And you can talk about Machine IDs & DNA$ all you want over at backupscene.com cos we know more about it all than any other site. There's a lot of myths surrounding DNA$ etc.., but if you want info that's almost guaranteed to be 100% then pop on over to the experts.
