i dont plan on playing games online, i only want to be able to transfer ps2 games from pc to ps2 hdd so do i need a network start up disc for it?
my ps2 might be chipped with crystal chip 2.0 pro if that helps, and im ordering a network adapter (but a start up disc's not included).

To transfer games to the hdd over network, no you don't need the N/A startup disc, you need this http://hdldump.psx-scene.com/
Just read its instructions closely and you shouldn't have a problem.
