I'm a bit new to this. I've got a PS2 with either a magic 2 or 3 and I bought (Original) Twisted Metal Black Online and the BBA. Now whenever I tired to connect to the central station (or whatever its called) The PS2 connected to DNAS and authenticated ok then it continued and connected to central station however whenever it disconnected it seemed to hang. The strange thing is is that even if you just do a network test it always seemed to hang around the same period of time i.e. If you keep running network tests it will hang at approximately the same time each time no matter what you do. So I could go backwards and forwards through the menu's but after about 2 minutes it would lock up. I could never get attached to central station at all.

I deleted all the config from the memory card i.e. Network config, Central config etc then I tried all the same kit on another playstation with no mods. I configured a new network config (Calling it a) and then connected to central station no problem. Everything works fine

I then switched back to my modded playstation. Deleted the network config but created a new one (Calling it a again) I then tried connecting to central station. It went through all the DNAS checks and connected no problem. I have since been on there for a couple of hours (To test) and registered the BBA no locking up of any kind.

I have yet to test this method of swapping playations for twisted metal black online but this game keeps freezing the same as central station so I can't play it which takes the piss seeing as I bought it for £35.

Anybody else any ideas. I will test the TMBO tonite when I get in. Can I switch off the magic 2 or 3 modchip.

Twisted Metal black Online has no DNAS that i'm aware of...At least NTSC version...
The only 2 games that have DNAS are Everquest, NCAA 2004 (Heard it did),and FF11 is suppose to have it whenever it's released...Except a couple more PAL games have DNAS.

TMBO Uk retail connects to DNAS as It says so in big letters in the middle of the screen.

I disabled my chip and the game runs fine now, so its only with the chip enabled that it is a problem. The game is an original but still only works with the chip disabled.

DNAS must somehow check for a chip.

I tried this about 10 times and every time with the chip enabled the game freezes just after the DNAS check. You don't get banned from the server though if you log back in with it disabled.

I have played midnight club 2 and auto modellitsa backups with no problem. I have not tried socom yet.

    how did you bypass it?
No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.
