    Hi,

I am currently trying to get my PS2 to connect to the internet via my router for online gaming and linux stuff. At the moment I can get it to connect to my Laptop via the router, which connects to the internet via the router, but am unable to get the PS2 to recognise the internet connection (never gets past the 1st test on the cd you get with the network adapter). Can anyone tell me how this needs to be set up to work properly?

Currently have everything set to scan automatically for various connection elements - this worked fine when I used it in my old student house which had a netgear modem/router)

    I have a v4 PS2, a linksys modem/router/switch, and talktalk broadband.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

After many hours of searching around I found this link that has sort of helped hxxp://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3763&p_created=1152241819&p_si d=56z36Yqi&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoP TEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MiZ wX3Byb2RzPTAmcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3NjZl9sY W5nPTEmcF9wYWdlPTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1wbGF5c3RhdGl vbg**&p_li=&p_topview=1

Only problem now is when I try to run the network configuration disc I can't get any further than 4 out of 5 tests passed. How can I sort out the final DNAS test and finally get online?

    Is this a wired connection?
I'm not sure what you mean by the 4/5 DNAS test...to the best of my knowledge, the network configuration disc only tests to see if you can connect to the internet...DNAS only tests to see if the game you're using has an authentic DNAS code...
You should just be able to run a cat5 cable from your router to your PS2 and be good to go...
I don't know anything about talktalk broadband, but most ISPs allow you to just shoot through the defaults provided for the PS2 network adapter, DHCP should be enabled by default on your router as well, but you may want to check just to make sure.

Yes, this is a wired connection, using a cat5 cable straight to the router. It finally fulfilled the 5th test that the network set-up disc performs when you finish the installation (this was the DNAS authentication). Took bloomin ages though. Double checked DHCP, and that was enabled already.

When I then tried to use ps2 linux to connect to the internet it failed to connect?!? Was unable to get onto central station using the network adaptor disc either. Havent had a chance to test it with a game yet. Cant understand what the problem is
