Hi, if this is in the wrong forum, would a moderator please move it for me?

I recently bought a game called Arc the Lad: End of Darkness that has online capabilities but I can't seem to play online. Right now the CAT-5 cable goes from my PS2 to a jump-router (or a piggy back router) straight to the main router. I am able to chat but not participate in online gameplay (battles & missions).

I contacted Namco and they told me that the wire needed to go directly from the PS2 to the main router. The reason I use a jump router is because the CAT-5 is not long enough to reach to the main router so we need some sort of stationing.

So here are my questions: do any games allow for a jump router to be used for online play? I know my brother can play Halo 2 using a jump router but that's for the X-Box.

My other question is: Is there a way to join two CAT-5 wires together? I suggested to my brother that I buy 100 feet as opposed to 50 feet (which is not long enough) but he told me that you'd have to crimp it and it would result in slower online gameplay.

If anyone can help me out in any way, It would be greatly appreciated. We're having a lot of trouble trying to figure this out. Hopefully someone here may know more than we do.

    Thanks in advance!

you can buy cat 5 barrels that is a little box where 2 cat 5's plug into to make it longer, I also make all my cat5 wires, I have a 1000 spool and fish my walls in the house and they only time you get slower transmissions is fi the line is more that 300 and some feet. I have my ps2 on the second router and it plays fine. Also did you check out there site for game support, maybe you need to open ports for the online gameplay, remember if you have to ope ports and you aree on the second router then you have to do the changes on both routers, you might be better off setting the ps2 as a dmz on both the main router and the second router, to so this you have to know the ip of the second router that it leased from the main router and then know the ip for the ps2 to set that up as a dmz ip on the second router, your router would have directions on how to set up a dmz, a dmz is for gaming and such, that ip designated to the router for a dmz just does not give it firewall protection and it is wide open to the internet. I maybe wrong with what I told you and the only thing that keeps you from playing online is the fact that everybody knows you suck at the game,
