Hi, I could copy a PS1 file to my ps2 mem card, then using uLaunchElf, I copied the folder on my USB stick. I can get the file on my computer, but is there a way to use this file in a PS1 emulator?

the ePSXe emulator builds MCR files. but it can also read MEM MCD and GME.
i cant remember what endings the ps1 savefiles have, but if it is one of thoes its just to load and play.

It maight even be some sort of converter out there. but i dont know.

There's no extension to the file I got. It only gave me a folder BASLUS-00628LUNAR001 with a file inside of it that has the exact same file name, without extension at the end. About converter, even if I try giving it an extension to the file, I always get a message my savefile is invalid.

If you simply copy a PS1 save folder to a non-MC filesystem (like USB) or transfer it to a PC by FTP, then some MC specific attribute flags are lost, including one which makes the save recognized as being a PS1 save. If that save is then copied back to MC, the PS2 will consider it invalid, because it lacks the stuff required for a PS2 save (icon.sys and icon file) and also lacks the special flag I mentioned above.

At present I only know one safe way to transfer files of this kind, and that method requires an IDE HDD in your PS2. You can then use the McManager by KaylaKaze to backup the save to HDD, and then copy it from there to the PC (by USB or FTP or whatever). Then when you want to revive the save again, possibly after hacking it, you transfer it back to the backup folder on the PS2 HDD, and use McManager to restore the save to MC. When restored this way, the save will retain the special PS1 flag, so that the PS2 will accept it as valid.

    Best regards: dlanor
