    Hi there!
My problem is I downloaded the NFS Underground 2 savegame with everything unlocked from Gamefaqs, it is in *.max format (Action Replay MAX EVO, or something like that).

Can I run Action Replay Max without burning it on a disc (because of a dead lens)?
Any other way to recover the saved game?
    Thanks everybody!

Better idea is convert *.max to *.psu (i.e by PS2 Save Converter) and PSUPaste it via uLE.

PSU is the best save container which was designed to handle PS2 saves. Even better than PSV (also handle all atrributes, time stamps etc. but in oposite to PSU, cannot be randomly name and it's signed...).

You can also use Ps2SaveBuilder08x.zip to convert it. It can be found here:
SKS Apps - Exploit Systems - Wii Ps3 Ps2 Apps - Homebrew Game Downloads
    Good luck.

That is correct, but I think it can load some formats that ffgriever's PS2SaveConverter can not load.

So for some cases it can be necessary to use both tools.

First one would use PS2SaveBuilder to convert a save into a container format compatible to PS2SaveConverter
(like XPS), and then use PS2SaveConverter to convert that save into PSU format, which uLE can 'psuPaste' to an MC.

    Best regards:

Of course both are great piece of code and in some rare, old file formats user will need a PS2SB. PSSB have also some unique functions like icon system file editor (well, broken, but it's easy to fix it).

Today, even on gamefaqs.com, there are ony 3 popular formats: *.max, *.cbs and crappy ;] *.psv.
