Merry Xmas and happy new year to all
It says in the kit that in oredr to play originals you should turn the chip off? On a v7 it is only nesecery for movies. Does the mod detect originals and does nothing or it patches the anyway?
No really need turn off chip for original , they boot too.
Need only for videos and music
i have problems in one v7 and one v6 and this code on magic 3.1. the code work, but Dont boot correct Dvd-r or if i do the azeimuth adjust dont boot correct the cd backups.; a no data and red screen apparear in differents trys of boots
Maybe ... but not a code prob. ... some ps2 needs correct laser calibration... or try different media type/brand...
in the same ps2 i have a messiah2 and work perfectly.
It would be really nice if it wasn't necessery to have to turn the chip off in order to play originals. Isn't there a way for the chip to figure out whether an original or not is inserted?
Answering my own question I guess that it would be to late to patch the game if it takes the time to recognize the disc, right? Admit it the xbox is nicer. I just hate all the trouble.
To Auberon : i wrote no need turn off chip for original , they work too . May need only for online games ...
I have a couple of really stupid questions: (I'm sorry but I'm a newbie to PS2 modding, I'm only used to PSX and XBOX modding )
- Code programming: should I use ICPROG 1.05A or 1.05C ? The former offers 'SX28AC(new)' as a device, the latter gives me choice between SX28 and SX28_A . I am currently using Titan SX - that's SX28AC/SS (smd version) .
Also: which options? IC-Prog 1.05A if I load the 50Mhz file says, by default:
Mem map: 4 pages + 8 bank
Brownout voltage: OFF
Other enabled switches: Turbo Mode, Copy Protection, Option Extend.
Config word: 07F1h -> Matches the FUSE setting on the code's readme file
The other config page says:
Internal RC Trim: 5
Brownout trim: 3
and this matches the 0F7F FuseX word as stated in the code's readme file.
The config seems ok so I just need to know which device should I choose. And can I disable Copy Protection to check if the code is programmed right, or will this change the chip's functions?
