Tray problem on V3-PAL
Tray problem on V3-PAL –
I have dissoldered all wires but still having the problem.
My Tray ejects but it isn't going back inside !
Here my measures:
^^please try to fill up some signals/description to find out
where the signal is, that allows the tray to go in !
i believe these point connect to where 5 and 6 would on the neo2.2 the ba chip chack for direct connection between these points on the cd dvd controller and the ba chip could be a fault there.
I had the same problem, the fix is quite simple. Basicaly you have probably damaged the 10k resistor when connecting point Z. Mine read 2.2k! First you have to isolate the defective resistor from the circuit by cutting the track from the resistor block to the IC, being careful not to damage the other tracks connected to the resistor block. I Then fitted a resistor (10K, obviously) near to the SX chip. Wire one end of the resistor to 3.3V, the other to point Z ON THE SX, lastly fit another wire from pin Z on the SX (this now has 2 wires) directly to the PIN on the IC where the (cut) track leads to. The resistor blocks are notoriously heat sensative, and are easily damaged if your iron is to hot or you linger too long. The same problems can occur when you fit a macrovision mod, as these point are on one of these packs also.. I can't guarantee this is your problem, but the symptoms are the same, I hope this helps...
entity , it wouldnt eject if this was the case , i had a similar problem to him a while ago , seems it was a solder splash on the board well more like a solder ball hehehe
ahhhhhhhhhhhh but it would robot eject and not go back in but
im not on about a short im on about if a leg on the cd dvd controller had a dry joint and was not connecting to one of the the legs on the ba chip controller:O) i can see where the
problem is just lookin at the picture its old point 40 where neo4 connected the pad if you look close enough at the picture you can see little trails of solder this may be the cause im not 100% on this but i would clear these bits of solder away.
thx grumman, this solved my problem ! I'm happy again now.... I will re-solder-in my homebrew magic3 next days...
Glad to help.

more simple isn't possible
just change the tray driver chip BA6664FM - always works for me
