Listen to the sounds your laser makes. If after inserting a disk you hear more than two clicks (similar to mouse buttons clicks), it means that your laser is not reading the disks too well. The chip can't boot copies if there are more than two laser clicks in the process of disk authentication.

The solution is to clean the laser. Clean the mobile lens and also the fixed lens under the mobile one. You can also remove the screw (only one!) that holds the PCB on the back of the laser and clean the laser on the bottom side too. From the bottom side you can reach the other side of the fixed lens, the 45 degrees angled glass lamella and another glass lamella in front of the laser diode/sensor.

The last thing you can do is to modify the values of the potentiometers under the laser, but not more than 10% of the initial value.
