Messiah 2 problems –
07-25-2003,02:45 PM
Hi, I'm new here and I just wanna say that this web site rocks! Anyway, I just received a modded PS2 with the Messiah 2 chip that I purchased from this website . After playing many games such as Final Fantasy and GTA3 with no problems, I tried putting in a PS2 DVD-R backup and I heard a clicking sound and the PS2 was unable to read the disc. I also tried CD-R backups as well as DVD movies and they work with no problem, so I'm not sure what I should do. I tried calling the company who I purchased it from but they told me to do some research and said that they cannot help due to the fact that it is a backup even though it specifically states on their website that the PS2 is able to play DVD-R backups. I was wondering if anyone got this same problem and how they solved it. I was thinking that it may be the setup options of the PS2, but I'm not sure. If not that, it may be installation issue, but I doubt that since they told me to do research. Anyway, thank you in advance for any help.

You posted in the wrong group that's why no one answered you. Sounds like a bad media to me. PS2 don't read DVD-R as good as your Computer. try to backup using a better quality disk.
Check the thread in PS2 DVD-R

Oops, sorry =(. Can a mod please move this to the correct forum? Much thanks! Anyway, thanks for the reply nightcrawler, but I'm pretty sure its not a bad media because the same copy works in my friends Magic modded PS2. Does anyone know if the Magic chip reads disks better than the Messiah 2 modchip? Thanks again.
