Yea hi all,
Just wondering if any of you have had this problem?
I recieved some replacment parts for dead La chips, the 6508R small boards from Divineo. They actually had stickers over the tops of the chips with a small piece of heat transfer rubber.
I peeled one of the stickers off and revealed they were in fact the BA5815 chips. I installed them anyway and great they worked.
Laser chirped away and all seemed good.
I then went ahead and reinstalled the modchip and it didn't work.
Checked my wiring and no go. I was using an SXV9.
I thought that maybe some signals had changed slightly and because the SXV9 (LACYG and RCE and co) only used 5 pickup points on the DVD/CD controller, I might need to use something like a Magic 5 which used all 9 of them, maybe that will solve the problem, but nop! still no go.
I intend to put a scope on point A of the modchip to see if it has changed from a good board that is already chipped but I thought I'd drop a line to see if anyone knows if there is a small fix for this problem.
I guess putting an original La6508 on the board will fix the problem and modchip should work again but since I ended up with about 16 of these little babys, I would like to see if I can use them..
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
