  1. #1 I need HELP with Magic3 on V3-PAL
    Omicron Guest
When I connect my Magic3 to my console, I'm getting a black screen and no sound. When I disconnect it, the console works fine. So why don't my PS2 initialize with chip connected ? I've doublechecked my connections. Used the Magic3 V3 diagrams of China-Magic and the Magic3-code of Robot.

    Please gimme some help !

    Greetz,

what diagram are you using to connect the magic 3 to the board, chip pin numbers etc. and are you using a resistor/capacitor/anything on the reset line ???

works perfect in v3 and v4 to. no problems. try the tipps with alternate W point, 33 or 16 k ohm resistor and 1 uF or 10 uF capacitor. all my installations an the one of my friend are working with homebrew magic 3.

Having a resistor 33k on Resetline, but even when I cut this connection it's the same thing ! Diagram as shown on China-Magic

    Homebrew SX28AC (newVer.) DIP...

    Used a 50MHz resonator+33k+15pF on OSC

What is the little chip with the number 103 on it where point "Z" is ? Could be i've damaged it... Is it a Resistornetwork ?

Hm, my Tray opens but doesn't close...

looks like a transistor from the picture, and could easily be damaged if you had any shorts or too much heat on it

    cheers

I think it could be a Resistor, 103 could stand for 10k

there are 8 pins on it, the right ones are all connectet to 3.3V
the left ones are going to the chip left of it.

So i thought this could be 4x PullUps ?

The PIN on the bottom is going down from 3.3V to 0V while I'm pressin the OPEN-Button

if thats the case it could well be a 10k resistor bank then, holding the inputs to the associated chip high, if you get 3.3v at each other opposite terminal, then they should be ok.

    cheers
