what is a ps2 homebrew mod? is it a hamemade mod chip like the xbox cheap mod or just homebrew software for existing mod chips (purchased mods like magic)?

Its a Homemade modchip, but you can also use the software to reflash your magic ship.

I can't find any info on what is needed and how to do it. Do you know of any step by step guides? I read the pinned guide but it doesn't have a parts list. I have a V7 ps2.
