I've read the faqs. I cant get this to work, just the red screen over and over. I've put a switch on but to no avail, since it doesn seem to help these things. Can someone help me out?

yeah i have the exact same prob, but never put a switch on the ps2... if ur desprete u can do the swap trick with an ordinary gameshark 2 ps1 disk..reallyhope someone finds out whats wrong with it
some magic 3 chips dont play ps1 when the Z wire is connected , and when u disconnect the Z wire the ps2 games dont work , maybe try that
i am having more probs too... i just saw ONCE an inverted ps2 logo at startup, and i noticed something about the psx games... when i put in a ps1 game, it starts beeping fast, then it goes to a red screen, or to the browser and THEN to the red screen.. nothing ever happens when i try to go into ps1 mode... but when i put in a ps2 cd it never beeps at startup, and it allows me to go into ps1 mode (it startsup with the ps1 boot sound, and then it says sony, and scea at the bottom, an sometimes 5 "n**"'s... but it never shows the orange logo.. im sure as hell replacing this magic 3 with a dms3 when it comes out...
that's f*cked up! why didnt i spend the extra 50 bucks....Originally posted by Robot

can anyone report a working magic 3 code that boots ps1? mine wont boot ps1 games either.
THE MAGIC 3 R-16 CODE WAS WORK. JUST CANT TO PLAY THE DVD9 COPYGAME
it had some freezing issues
For problem booting PS1, I had the same problem with my V7 and Magic III
I have resolved pressing the key reset for around 10 seconds to start.
