i used blue murata resonator. the 15 pF capacitors are build in. ubicom recommend a 10 kOhm resistor in their sx 28 datasheet for that resonator. the resonator is from www.parallax.com .
i don't use this 10 kOhm resistor. it is working perfect without this resistor.
in one V4 pal i had to use the 10 mikro Farad capacitor between +5 Volt and GND.
the reset is not working in some consoles if you use 33 kOhm. with 16 or 20 or 22 kOhm it is working in all consoles, i have tested. if you use 10 kOhm, then maybe it is not possible to switch the console on with the reset button. so i recommed values between 16 and 22 kOhm. just test and try, what is best for you. :)
every boot is a success, no freezing at all. when you do your testing, be sure, the laser is adjustet very well and you use quality verbatim media.
dvd-r verbatim white label printable is ok. pioneer and apple are also ok. these are the 3 best DVD-R for ps2.
cd-r verbatim "dark blue recordside" metal azo datalife plus is the best. normal verbatim without the "plus" is not good.
old origa chip is also the sx 28 with the same resonator and i never use the parallel resistor of 10 kOhm. just try it out, if the chip is not working.
i used thin 0,15 mm wires for all wires to the bios and the dvd controller. all other cables are 1 mm isolated flexible wires. Z, SCEX, GND, RST, +5 Volt.... the same hints like neo 4.1 times, he he.....
i read a little bit more in the spanish forums of blakcat. he posted in three different boards and the people are satisfied with his code.
i can't understand, that in ntsc consoles this code ist not working good. why? it is the exactly the same model, only some changes n the bios for the region.
ok, thats it from me for today. :)
