Anyone know how many v7 version exists?

Please, someone know if there are two different v7 release? I've modified many v7 models, but in tha last two ps2 v7 the dvd's backup don't work. Using dvd games import (ntsc usa and jap) all is ok, but with backup (i tried Apple and Princo) nothing! the first forward/backward of the laser is ok, after this there is a little time of no movements, and after the laser become crazy (but no tickle!
in some cases, with noise, the laser try to boot and the playstation2 logo appear (1 time of 10). In other cases, the browser appear. I've tried all! capacitors on Z and vcc/gnd, short wires, fat wires for vcc and gnd, tuning laser (from 1260ohm to 1100 ohm), nothing. the dvd's backup in the old v7 I make are fine!
anyone have a idea? Help!

as i know last v7 model is 39008 in Russia - it has russian menu and dvd region 5

some chips work on it

I've seen 2 different PAL v7 (the one with gapped bios and the one with non-gapped bios).

I confirm also to have seen 2 different v7 39004, gap and not
gap bios, but both have worked correctly with magic3.

If not there are installation errors a similar problem it can depend on the seriously insufficient laser for which a original dvd disc go
miraculously, and never backup.

I don't know if you can find yourself in this condition for which a regulation in order to read them is impossible

Thank you, Pino, I've resolved the problem. Rising the laser trimmer on dvd-r suppord the v7 work, but now I want try to buy some dvd-r blank support of some manufacturers, I want test if with the laser trimmer in original position i find a dvd-r blank support that go properly. I've read on this forum that Traxdata DVD-R are ok, but I don't know where find it in Italy.
Do you know where I can buy it in Italy?
