Z Questions about shark-port & game-save hacking. –
I have a PS2 game-shark & a PS2 shark-port, & I want to use them with my notebook pc to hack a code for a PS2 game that I have.
The idea here is that I would take the game-save for the game ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", U.S. version), shark-port to my notebook pc, & sift through the addresses to find the 2 Equipped Weapons Modifier codes for that game (you have 2 equipped weapons slots in it). I am NOT going to be re-using the game-save itself, I'm just trying to hack the 2 equipped weapons modifier codes so that I can use them along with my other code-breaker codes for this game. Btw, the reason I've been looking for those 2 codes is because if you use the Character Modifier code, there are some areas in the game that you HAVE to use the Jade Destiny (think that's it's name) sword in to get past, & most modifiable characters DON'T have ANY weapon after the 2nd area, even if they START with it.
My question (I haven't tried this yet) is, will the game-save be encrypted after the shark-port gives it to my pc, or will the addresses & values be in hex, & if the game-save IS encrypted, then what downloadable program should I use to convert the addresses & values into hex? Finally, if there is anything else that someone thinks I should know before/when trying this, go ahead & post that here to. Many thanks to anyone who can answer my questions.
The save is not encrypted however cheat device codes refer to areas in ram, not in game saves.
