Ok now here's my problem... My PS2 is a big pain in the you know what!
It doesn't read anything, ecept for my HDLoader disc, and some PS1 discs, as well as some Newer PS2 Games. But for the life of me it WILL NOT READ my AR max disc, Sharkport Discs, Codebreaker Discs or Gameshark disc. Damn DREs!!! It used to read the AR Max disc fine but now no. I always had problems with the CB and Sharkport worked once in a while.

    OK,now here's what I'm trying to do.
I'm trying to bypass using my Discs and put a save onto my memory card.
It was a .max save so I converted it to a Xport save, since I can't get the PS2 to read the AR disc. Now I can't get the PS2 to read the Sharkport disc. So from my PC I transferred the sharkport save to my USB Flashdrive. Then I transferred it to my PS2 Using my PS1 game and Exploit. Using Launchelf 3.4, I copied it to my memory card. Restarted the PS2 and looked at my PS2 browser and saw the file as corupted data.

Is there something I'm missing? How do I move the file to my Memory card without getting corupted data?

Also when I did this, the file copied as Filename.XPS instead of BASLUS-xxxx, like all the other filenames are in my Memory card.

If it's an Xport save file I expect you'll need Xport to restore it. Probably better to use uLaunchELF for save backups in future.

i made a tool just for this occasion.

    check out this thread:
    http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46484 (XPort/SharkPort to LaunchELF Save Converter/Extractor)

    rainbow6 added a nice suggestion.

    this is the basic process:

-download your save file (any format)

-convert that save file to xport/sharkport format with ps2 save builder

-use my tool to extract the folder/files from the xport/sharkport file

-copy the folder to your usb stick

    -start launchelf on your ps2

-copy the folder (which now should appear as a save game 'file' if you have descriptions turned on) to your memory card

    that's it.

    happy gaming

Hey thanks guys, I just broke down and opened up the PS2 and gave it a cleaning. The discs work fine now.
