Ok, Ive been searching and reading for a couple of days, and Im getting unclear answers.

I have an unmodded run of the mil PS2

I have Hd loader on disc.

What I want to be able to do is get PS2Menu and/or whatever else needed on MY MC so that I can use either faplink or HDL DUMP/B to transfer my game via a network.

It would be nice to maybe have the MC HD loader too, so I dont have to wear out my disc.

I know that you have to do the swap trick in order to boot the CDR that contains the files that you transfer to the memory card, but I really want to avoid doing that.

Is there maybe a way that I can use HD loader to copy the CDR to the HDD and then boot it that way, so that I can install to the MC. And If I can, will it boot on its own so that I dont ever have to use any kind of swap method. If this is possible can I get a semi-detailed how to, or point me to a link or something that has a How to

But my main priorty is to get what I need in order to transfer files via network. Can this be done.

and another question I have, is will the Hd loader read PS1 images if I put them on the HD via HDL DUMP?? And can the HD loader to transfer Burned DVD or CD games to my HDD to playback later.

Sorry to ask these questions, Ive done some searching, but IVe gotten yes and no answers to all the questions above, so I want some clarity.

Im going to write a good tutorial on it, I figured it out by searching and searching several websites, and took ideas from each to pull it off.

Basically in short terms, what I did was:

Used CDGENPS2 to make an image file of EXECFTPS.
    The image contained the following:
    Execftps.elf , system.cnf, and config.dat (the config.dat file modified for PS2 id).

After I had the ISO of the above file, I hooked my PS2 Hdd up to my PC. Used the HD DUMB tool, to drop my EXECFTPS.ISO onto the HD.

Hooked the PS2 HD back up to the PS2, loaded the stamped HD loader. Inside the game list I could see my execftps.iso. I ran that as if it were a game. Once that was running that set up the FTP server on my PS2 .. unfortunatly thats not running from the MC ...

So now that I have the server running, I go into the MC (MC/0/Badata-system), and throw in the PS2-menu, HD loader Lite, and the Execftps (So I can connect via FTP later) ....

Reboot with the PSX disc ... and viola ....

MC exploit without the need of a pendrive, mod-chip, or a single swapCD trick!!

A better tutorial is on the way ...

Does anyone know of a TITLE.DB file that has lots of PS1 ID's on it???, I added like two or three to mine, but I read somewhere that there was one circulating that had 600+ Id's???

LOL ... sorry I guess thats just what I think of them in my mind ...

what Im referring to is the

SCUS_XXX.XX or the SLUS_XXX.XX Numbers that are read off of a PS1 (PSX) disc

Its what you inject into the title.db file by using the titleman -a CMD prompt.

When you inject that number (or what I called ID), into the title.db file and load it onto the MC, its what triggers the Boot.elf.

Anyway ... back to my question. I know that I read on here someone mentioning a Title.db file that had like 600+ SCUS/SLUS numbers on it, so that you could virtually use any PSX game (good to have, if your going to hook all your friends up with PS2menu or HDloader on their MC).

I know that you can modify the Title.db file to have more than one number .... mine is currently able to be triggered off of resident evil and a game called Contender.

You can also do this much simpler if you have a sharkport and the PS2 save builder program. Modify your title.db, load boot.elf, hdloader.elf and titledb into the save builder to make it a PS2 save. Transfer to memory card through sharkport. That is what I did and it works perfectly. I would like access to that Title.db with 600+games.

I was really thhinking about making a psx list with every game and their id, so people could just pick and choose their id, without having to look up the number. So instead of putting game in drive, etc, just look up the game and get the number.

I think a method like this would be helpful for anyone who is doing it for a friend, or someone online or whatever. Maybe that would be something to look into.
