I used the damn action replay max evo to transfer saves from my mcard to the usb stick and application crashed while doing so,and now my whole mcard is corrupted,i then tried to backup the second and i happened there as well, and i lost two mcards full of vip saves. Before i use mckiller to format the mcard,is there a way i can extract and rebuild the saves?

As far as I'm aware there's no tools out there with raw access to the memory card so you're out of luck there.

You might have some luck running uLaunchElf and seeing if it's file browser can spot anything and copy that across to a USB pendrive.

I've already tried that not luck.

MCard one shows 3 saves that are not so important and mcard too doesn't come up with anything.

ON the s browser although no save appear it does display on the free size that both are half full, meaning there is data on the mcard.

Is there surely know way to make an extraction?Shall i proceed with a format via mckiller?

Basically the File Allocation Table on your memorycard is damaged. The only way you could rescue anything not showing in the PS2 Browser/uLaunchElf is by getting a raw dump of the memorycard data and picking it piece by piece.

I know of no tools that can access the card in this way so that's a no go.

If I were you'd I'd copy the saves you can access and then format the memorycard. Use the PS2 browser or a tool such as uLaunchELF to transfer save data, never use a third party product unless you absolutely need to (with the exception of uLaunchELF which is fairly well tested by now)

Dude yesterday, was redirected to your blog via ps2savetools,and read some stuff, like the end of save hacking, and i realised that you have lots of experience in this matter. But i didn't realise that you were the one replied in this post,so i came back in this forum to request "gothi's" email only to see that you were the one that replied here in the first place!

    What a crazy coincidence!

So i guess that if you don't know a way that this can be done,i have no other option that to format.

Thing is i got some rpg saves with 60 hours+ and some games with over than 90% overall completion and its such a same to never recover them!

I answered this topic before I got your email so didn't think to respond to it, sorry.

Unfortuantly it would appear there is little you can do in this instance I always make fairly regular backups with a known working product (the old Xport v2 or these days, uLaunchELF) because I've seen this happen many times and still there isn't a way to fix a corrupted FAT.
