sharkport won't work

My sharkport was working fine about 3 weeks ago. Now I can't even detect it. I have installed the updated software, unplugged it from the pc, restarted the ps2 and the computer, manually installed the drivers but nothing.
My computer use to give me that warning when a device was unplugged when I removed the usb cord, not anymore!

I did nothing to the sharkport connector it just stoped working. Does anyone know what I can do to make it work again. Or do I have to get a new one. I was using windows 2000 it didn't work so I upgraded to XP it still won't work. I have tried everthing possible.

If I brought an adapter that will connect two usb cords together does anyone think it will work.

Are you sure that the CD is loaded on the PS2 and not just gone to the RSOD?

I had the same problem. Then when I did get it working again, I couldn't search online for codes. I figured it was because Gameshark.com sold to Madcatz and the site was down.

So I downloaded the X-Port software, same as Sharkport but for AR2, and everything works fine. It searches for codes at codejunkies.com

BTW - I'm using XP
