sharkport not connecting –

i burned sharkport (dunno what version)
dwnloaded x-port software, both us and uk (neither worked)
purchased a usb-usb lead. male to male A type connector.
started xport on cpu
loaded sharkport and it hangs on a waiting message
xport software on cpu says usb error and doesn't connect.
also noticed that reset light (red) dimmly on (when ps2 switched of) and usb connected.
pls help as i spent a long time getting this lead and by reading on this forum believd that this would work
heelllp!

I did just the same today, I get error connecting to ps2.
Isn't that Sharkport usb cable a special cable? On photo's I see there is something on the middle of the cable, but thought it was just a dummy kind of thing

Your gonna need the thing in the middle. I have Shark Port. Maybe you should checkout the n port thing. I think if you do a search in the forums you can find it

Ok, got an USB cable with that thing in the middle (it's a regular network usb cable) and now I can connect.
Seems it's not compatible with AR2, it only reads the memory card and not the AR2 dongle (It says no GS dongle found)
I supose I need the X-port Cd. Where can i DL an image?
