Hey guys Im wondering about something....I saw in an ebay auction that sharkports only work on older ps2s...something about models after 35001s that dont work with the disc...is that true? Would an xport work and not a sharkport, or would they both work on a brand new console?

    There are 2 versions of Sharkport/Xport : V1 & V2
For V1, what you read is true : you will get a RSOD using it in a newer model.
For V2, it's OK (works with my V10). It is also call "Sharkport2"/ XportII

If you have an AR2v2, the 'xport support' is embedded : no need to have another disc for transfers (useful if the version you get on EBay is a V1, as you can still use the cable and download PC Clients from Datel's site), but the 'cheatcodes thing' will not work with V9 and newer. Too bad Datel forgot to add xport/sharkport support with ARMax...

I have 39001 PS2... so it doesn't work with my PS2. Does it?
