  1. #1 Sharkport CD won't load on my DMS3 or Magic 3.5 PS2's

Greetings all. Ever since I got my DMS3 modded PS2, I've used my original unmodded PS2 when I wanted to use my Sharkport for transferring saves to a memory card. For some reason, the modded PS2 just won't load the SharkPort PS2 CD, and all I get is a blank screen.

Well, I took my original PS2 in to have it fixed due to slow loading, etc... and the guy who tried to fix it made it worse. So he made me a deal on a newer PS2 with a mod chip installed. Not thinking about my SharkPort, I took him up on it, and now I can link my systems, play Japanese games, etc.

However, NCAA Football 2005 is coming out soon, and I'm gonna want to get a copy of the players names to input into the game once someone has done that. So I'm trying to get my SharkPort working again.

Do others have trouble running the SharkPort CD on a modded system? Do I just need a new SharkPort CD? I still have the USB cable, can I download and burn a copy of the original PS2 CD? I just wanna get my SharkPort working again.

    Thanks for your help!

Actually...it's because $0ny has blocked the use of older Action Replay/Gameshark/Sharkport software which each new revision of the software. best you can do is since you have a chip installed, make a backup of the sharkport CD and burn that....for all intents and purposes, it should work.

So all I have to do is make a copy of my Sharkport CD? Sounds insane, but what the hell... I'll try it. More as it happens...

go to codejunkies.com and tell them the "truth", you had to replace your old ps2 and now your x-port cd no longer loads (shark port and x-port are the exact same thing). they'll send you a new disk. then go download the new x-port software for your pc and your good to go.

I've just finished trying that, since a copy of my Sharkport software did no good on either PS2. But I'm looking at the Max Drive software, and wondering if I couldn't use that with my 256MB USB Drive. Does anyone have an iso of the PS2 disc I assume comes with a Max Drive? Do you think this would work?

    Any help is appreciated.

Use a GameShark2 or Action Replay disc, versions 2, 2.1, and 2.2 are all targets for the sharkport/export host, thats what I've always used, and I also use the AR v 2.0 with my Japanese consoles, it works as a target, too.

speaking of NAPLINK, I've uploaded an image file I mastered a while back, it's both a Windows Autorun client and driver installer for Win XP, and a PS2 "target" cd, in one.
