  1. #1 PS1 disc just....plays
    raviadso Guest
    I have a v7 PS2
    unmodded
    with a 200gig Maxtor HDD
    using HDAdvance but have HDLoader
    Sharkport 2
    Sharkport 2 v1.03 software

I extract the information from the memory card. I then create a title.db with titleman frontend v.01, I add the SLUS _ _ _. _ _ to it. I then use ps2save-builderv0.6 to grab the system information that I grabbed from the MC, and "add" the BOOT.ELF & HDLOADER.ELF, as well as the TITLE.DB that I created to it. I then update the MC (to add the updated system info).

I take the PS1 disc that was in my computer (and that I got the ID from) and stick it in my PS2 and restart.

    FFIX plays....thats the disc....

    What have I done wrong?

all the files that you state above need to go in a folder called BEDATA-SYSTEM OR BADATA-SYSTEM on the mem card!
also when adding the slus info in titleman frontend make sure you add the
under score aswell as i missed this before and had the same problem ie:slus_xxx.xx!

how would I make that folder when using ps2save-builder and Sharkport2?

Good idea on the underscore though. I'll have to check to see what I did with that.

Edit: nevermind, I checked the titleman and it automatically includes the underscore. I still have to find the problem.

Edit again: PS2 Save Builder also says that all the files are in "BADATA-SYSTEM". At least thats what it says in the "root/id" thing.

Are you using titleman frontend? If so are you sure you're clicking "AddExec" and that the number of free places is decreased by 1? You can also check that the SLUS you're adding is in the title.db file by using the listing button. When I was first trying to create a title.db I wasn't clicking the add exec just clicking the create button so the SLUS never got transferred.

Take a look at this thread: http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28385

You can also try using the PS2 Independence MC exploit installer files (this is what I used)...but use your own TITLE.DB file though.

I am going crazy. I tried to manually enter the title.db with dos using the base provided in that link and it still boots the PS1 game.

It could be a number of things:

    1) Bad TITLE.DB file
    2) You didn't put the corrent PS1 CD id into the TITLE.DB file
    3) You didn't put the TITLE.DB file into the correct directory in your MC. FYI...
BADATA-SYSTEM for US NTSC, BEDATA-SYSTEM for PAL.

Also, filenames and directories are case sensitive.

I have a few title.db files with almost 200 gaes in it... I could never get the frontend to work right.... so I just found a file that had several games that I could use listed in it....

I can send you them if you need one.... game names are not listed but you can check to see if the nuber is listed...

I have not found a GUI frontend to titleman.exe that worked for me. So, I stopped trying to use frontends and just used titleman.exe directly.
