Memory Card Reader??
Erm I JUST got an idea which I know nothing baout but i am going to say it maybe someone know were to start...
Could anyone mmake an adapter from serial port or usb or paraller port, TO a small box which you can insert your memory card in.
example: like the one attached (red port is the one for memory card the one which should work) unless you can make them both working :P
By this we could make a program that could read and write from usb araller or serial port ONTO the memory card without involding a ps1 or ps2 !!
If someone would like to make it more complicated, he couls also try to make the joypad port work so you can read and write onto a memory card for ps 1 and s2 purposes, and play computer games using ps2 or ps1 oypad for pc game purposes... all from the front panel in a ps2 !!
dunnot know anything were to start but i gave my idea!! its up to programmers and technicians if they wish to use this idea

there already is. it's called a dexdrive, and from what i've heard, it sucks.
theres a couple other readers out there also, dont remember any names tho.
-
oh ... didn't know that! I was wondering maybe our forum technicians would make this a better thing than the one you called the dexdrive :D
Hope one of you rpelyes with a start for it or maybe a solution because it would be very usefull .... speaking of which maybe you could even connect the ar2 v2 to it and update it throu internet directly !!!
-
Nice idea.
Just thought I'd also add you can get the dexdrive from www.lik-sang.com, but I have no idea if it's any good. Could be helpful though if you wanted to make your own :)

COME ON PEOPLE think about this lets develope this ... we make LOADS OF FANTASTIC STUFF all ourselves here at this forum.... Can this be another one? btw thanks acestes
-
like i already said, there are other products.
but since it isnt a huge hassle to do it with the network adapter, or jsut move the ps2 to the computer and use a usb cable, most people probably dont give a shit.

oh.. f*** to bad i dont know programming on pc and usb interfecing ..... grr thanks anyway
-
ive got a dexdrive it doesnt work for ps2
-
Deathwish, I have exactly what you mention ATTACHED on my laptop as i speak :)
It's been developped FOR A VERY LONG TIME.
Although it works OK for EVERY PSX pad type (DualShock, DualShock2,...), it ONLY works with PS1 memory Card.
Because PS2 cards are protected with Magic Gate, I think the software i currently use for PS1 memory card doesn't work.
Here are links you can find useful :

Enjoy!
It's fairly easy to build and absolutely great to play emulators; send memory card saves to a pal, or hack saves on your pc, etc...
I can prolly take a pic if you want me to ;)
Later,
