Sup guys. I've read numeruous tutorials on the net and here throught posts, but I can get this stupid exploit to work. Ok, here what I have and did.
I got Swap Magic CD 3.2 (or whatever for US from a friend) and follow the MC exploit tutorial where I downloaded the files and run the titleman -a SLUS-012.51 (is my Final Fantasy IX PS1 game). burned it into my Fujifilm CD-R at 4X using Alcohol 120% and Image burning wizard with all files recommeded in the same order. Now everything looks good so far right? OK, I then booted the SM 3.2 CD and I got to the screen where it said "Load Program" and right below it it said "Video: Normal" so to be safe, I change video to NTSC. After that, I used my homemade slide card to swap the CD and put in my exploit CD. Down at the bottom of the TV screen, I have two options, "X to boot" and "O to special boot". I tried BOTH options but all I got is the red, starry swap magic CD screen with flickering red borders around the starry background and I waited for a good 5 minutes to make sure, and nothing happened.
Please help.
By the way, my PS2 is v7 I think because it said some'n like SCH-39001.
First of all, I think your first problem is that swapMagic cd3.2 can't boot up the exploit CD...I don't know why but SMCD3.2 just have hard time booting up CD-r stuff...what I recommend for you is get DVDloader.....and here's the step for booting it...
SwapMagic DVD2>>>DVDloader>>>regular eject>>>insert a ORiginal PS2 cd game>>>
wait for about 10 sec so the ps2 recognize the CD game>>>swap CD to CD-r using slidecard....
if any of these isn't clear, ask me....but first..get DVDloader and play with it for a while so you get familar with it....
One last thing...for the slus...sometime, the slus uses a _ instead of a -....like this...titleman -a SLUS_012.51...to make sure you got the correct one...stick your psX game into your PC and browse the CD....look for the 'system.cnf' file....open this file using NOTEPAD....it'll give you something like this 'SLUS-012.51'....sometime it's a DASH(-), other games have a UNDERSCORE...( _ )
Hey vboyz, agee is right.. Your goin to need a "loader" disk named cogswaploader.. After you find and burn the cogswap disk your going to need to do the following:
Boot up your SM disk.. Then use your slide card and boot the cogswap disk that you made... After that boot, a blue disk will be on screen.. Your going to need to use your slide card agian and put in the HDloader disk that you made.. Just push X on your controller and your set to go...
I also have a V7 and these V's are some what of a pain in the a$$ to boot back up disk and what not... Just do what I said and youll be up and runnin bro..
Thanks for the replies, and I finally got it and made a tutorial to share with fellow members. Basically, what I've found out is the same thing that you posted here. Therefore, I went and download the CD Loader v7 beta3 cue and bin file. Burned it and use SM3.2 to boot that then I use CD Loader disk to load the exploit. Finally I got it working and running smoothly.
I attached the tutorial here so people who has problem with version 7 PS2 will have some clues.
Just a note vboyz, on #12 of "what you must have/know" you may also want to incloud AR and GS.. How ever for V9-10 I beleave AR and GS will NOT work for these versions...
Other wise great tutorial bro..

The reason I don't need it because I didn't have AR or GS at all and it worked. Now I don't know what about newer version such as 9-10, but mine was v7 (39001) and it worked without those.
