Max Drive Problem

Hi there,

I want to save this saved files from GameFAQ to my memory card. The extension of the save is .max.
There been many discussion here, so I got confused a bit.
I tried using my own USB drive and used a "backup copy" of AR MAX. I have the crystal chip.
AR MAX recognize my USB DRIVE in the memory manger but can't see the .max file I saved.

Must I get Max Drive from code junkie?
Also if I must get MAX DRIVE do
I get AR MAX EVO or just the MAX DRIVE
is this MAX DRIVE independent as in you can just plug it in without a CD and it will work?
Please help me out here thanks a lot.

i'm more of a soft-mod person. i was able to extract memory card saves to the HD using ExecFTP with a network adaptor. is there a way to upload a memory card save via ExecFTP? the file i tried downloading from gamefaqs was a .xps file which had no match with the files i had previously extracted. i figure if someone can answer his question they can also answer mine.
