Anyone know how to use max drive with a regular usb device? I tried, but I'm sure there is a CD that comes with it that is needed to transfer stuff to/from the mem card and the flash drive.......

I have also thought about this Kane!... I dont see how it wouldnt be possible to use a USB JumpDrive (or the like) to swap game saves...
The disk that comes with the Max Drive is a 3inch disk.. I am however haveing trouble loading the disk to Windows XP... I tryed maken an ISO image and see what happends from there.. But with no luck sents I cant even get it to load from XP...
I have however contacked some peaple on the forums and asked them how and what is needed to make "JumpDrives" usable on the PS2...
Be sweet to if some one could make an .ELF file for the MaxDrive... But then agian im talking about copyrighted stuff so Ill just shut up..
Later,
Scooter
P.S. Undertaker will kick his brothers a$$ any day.. lol, just playing!..
but its true thou.. LOL!..
I thought the MAX Drive software for the PS2 would support any USB flash drive?
I guess I was wrong.
sorry to ask this...but can some one tell me what does this max Drive thingy do...??...I just haven't have time to get into it...
max drive is a 2-part accessory for ps2 (and other systems like xbox, GC, GBA)
there's a boot disc that the ps2 uses which boots up a memory manager, at this point you can plug in ANY usb flash drive and it'll be compatible with your ps2 (not just that wimpy 16mb one that they give you. but i don't see who'd use 256mb for game saves)
the utility allows you to transfer saves to and from the ps2 MC to your usb flash drive. It support batch copy/move/delete (not sure about format) and the saves gets into the usb drive as .max extension files.
there's a second disc for you PC that loads up a pc utility that allows you to download more saves from the net using that program (or just use IE on your own and go to the websites yourself)
that's about all I know. There's something about the discs that won't allow dvdDecrypter to read the bootdisc but I'll stop there. =)
hope that helps.
Does anyone know how to convert .max saves to something ps2save-builder can handle? There are a lot of saves on codejunkies in .max format but I don't know how to convert them or if it is even possible.
Thanks for the reply..miko....i guess i'll be looking into that now since i got interest in it....
Thanx miko, I guess I was NOT clear on what I had said above!..Originally Posted by miko1010

I tried to Plug and use my 256 USB Drive and no luck
AR Max doesn't use it. only Get an error copy... GeZZ Have they made this on purpose to force you to buy there Stick thingy... Good Question!
You can download the media creator from codejunkies. Any USB drive CAN be used with that program. I am using a 128 MB now.
The only thing is that you have to boot the media player with the AR disc.
