SOLVED: Help with copy protected saves + nport
SOLVED: Help with copy protected saves + nport –

Ok.. i backed up my memorycard using nPort (Exploit + pukklink + nport)... one of the saves i backed up is Star Ocean`s Battle trophy database, which is Copy Protected.
Now, i lost my memory card, so i went, bought another one, and went to reload all the info from the previous one. a little out of date but should do, eh?
thing is.. nPort does not set the copy protected bit on the files.. =P (actually, checking some other files, it also strips that bit when it copies the file to the pc. i checked the save with ps2savebuilder and the bit is unset =p).. AND, to make matters worst, Star Ocean notices this, and tells me the save is currupt.. =P
so, what i need is one of two things:
a way to have nport set the bits as copy protected..
OR
a way to change that bit on the mc itself, with another program
i do have some knowledge on programming, but i don't have the ps2 toolchain to try to edit/compile nport's source.. also, i do have access to a modded slim ps2, if needed, and i can put on my memory card about everything i need...
so, do i have any changes? any answer is appreciated, but a yes is certainly desired! ^^
(or, does anyone happen to have a complete SOTET trophy database to send me? ^.^)

Ok, i did it. here's how:
First, i restarted the game, and used the function "initiate database".. that creates a new (and valid) database on my new MC.
second, with pukklink + inlink, i started uLaunchElf 3.61, and configured it for net access
third, with ps2savebuilder, i extracted the main save file from my original save
fourth, on ulaunchelf, i started the ps2net mode (192.168.0.10)
fifth, with an ftp client, i browsed to the ps2 (ip as above), and to the savegames directory. i the overwrote the file on the MC with the one i extracted on step 3
sixth, reboot, soda, and gaming! yay!!
i skipped the configuration details, since mainly everything for me is already set up.. if anyone needs anything more specific (And has a valid question!), reply to this and i'll try to help.
cheers, and i'm still taking that complete database!!
