  1. #1 Question Execftps to install progs for MC Hack
    psxtradr2000 Guest
I am trying to run Execftps off a CD so I can install progs to my MC for the MC Hack. When I try to connect to the PS2 using an FTP prog on my PC I get this message: 500 Not understood, and then it does not list the directory contents of my ps2. any idea what the error means and how to fix it?

What are you using on your PC to connect to your PS2? I recommend using FlashFXP as your FTP client.

On FlashFXP, are you using passive mode? Also, what username and password did you try to login as? I just use anonymous. Not sure if that matters.

Since he's able to ping the PS2, then that means his network cabling is ok.

You don't have an IP address conflict, do you?

I Had a similar problem when i first tried to ftp, cured it by switching of windows firewall and configuring zonealarm properly. But because i had all ready given zonealarm permission to allow ping to wrok i had no problem "ping'ing" my ps2

also if you are using a router... DMZ your PS2.....

is the program using the default IP for your PS2? It took me forever to get it to read the IPCONFIG.DAT file.... now I use EXEcFTP to transfer most everything I need....

I have had problems with it hanging on HDD transfers... to the point of having t reboot the PS2... but with MC transfers I can just disconnect and reconnect to fix the problem....
