for me.. once i update the code list(piss poor collection of codes) and reboot the console and try to load the new list.. the damn program crashes.
done by all the means possible. i have to add in codes by hand :-/
last time i buy a datel product
i have the uk one and it updated fine last time i tryed. but everytime i load it it wants to update because it says it can detect a connection even thoug it isnt within 10m of a lan cable
All in all it sounds like it's a peice of crap. I've heard it can screw up a memorycard really good. But....
AR Max has a special place in my heart. I remember when I messed my GTA: SA save by moving it around via launchelf. I thought I was screwed. But I used PS2 Save Builder to convert it to an AR Max save, then uncrushed it back to my memory card and it was fixed. One good thing about AR Max at least, I suppose.
What version of LaunchELF was this? How did you know it was screwed, did you get an error in the game or somewhere else?
I'm just wondering because I had problems with uLaunchELF 3.47 when I created a folder and then a subfolder in that same folder on my MC. When I was moving .ELFs around between those new folders, uLauncheELF said my .ELFs were no longer ELFs everytime I tried to execute them. So I would like to know if uLE can cause errors on save games and how if possible.

The problem you refer to, concerning GTA:SA saves, was cured in v3.41u of uLaunchELF. That fix was followed up in v3.42 with the introduction of mcPaste, which allows safe backup of all known (meaning all tested so far) PS2 game saves to PS2 IDE HDD.
Backups to PC or USB HDD still suffer some problems, due to limitations of those file systems. (Some file /folder names valid on MC are not valid in those file systems, though they are valid on a PS2 IDE HDD.)
The 'not an ELF' problem you describe seems similar to one debugged by EP recently, though that mainly affected very slow (64MB) MCs. That bug was cured in v3.48 of uLaunchELF, but I recommend that you update to the latest version (v3.51) to gain the benefits of all new improvements.

@ps2dragon, I don't really remember which version it was. I think it was the last version of LaunchELF, before I even started using uLaunchELF. If I remember right.
@dlanor, so do the problems with save backups to PC or USB mean that it would still, possibly, corrupt a GTA:SA save? Actually i'll just give it a try later and tell you what happened. Thanks for the work on uLaunchELF, btw. Love it.
**Ok, I copied my GTA save from my memcard to my 128MB memorex USB, then back, and it worked like a charm. Very nice. Thank you.**
