i have the 64mb memory card and it wont let me access it on the playstion to delet games, it brings it up like the other memory cards but then it shuts itself down and goes back to the main screen, is there a way for me to format it so i can start using it again, the weird thing is that it still saves games and i can play those saved games.
might not be compatible, or a bad MC. Don't think Sony approved any 64mb cards too.
What brand is your MC?
There are several ways open to you, but whichever you choose, you probably will need to reformat that memory card. The best tool for doing that is probably 'mcKiller' (just google for "PS2 mcKiller" and you'll find it).Quote:

As to why this has happened, that's hard to say, unless you have used the ARMax utilities for gamesave transfer. Those utilities are well known to trash MC directories beyond any possibility of data rescue. A complete reformat of the card is always necessary for those cases.
For the future I suggest that you use a good homebrew filemanager to handle your MC maintenance, as this will allow you a far better insight into the real contents. For example, you can see the real names and content of folders the Sony browser just shows as 'corrupt'. You can also use various methods for gamesave backup to other media, so you don't have to use so huge memory cards. That is a great advantage in playing, as the huge cards are always very slow.
