Could anyone do this? Changing what the rocket launcher shoots? Like the stuff launcher from Half Life 2 SMOD

Can't post links. Basically you can pick the object you want to shoot by right clicking and then you can shoot it by left clicking [on PC] could anyone make a mod similar to this for GTA4:EFLC, it would be hilarious shooting trash cans at people.
if someone were willing to put the work into it, it would be much more practical to just spawn an object then apply forces to it based on input, sort of a slingshot.

I'd love to see it done, a weapon like the stuff launcher in GTA would be a god send, especially with the Euphoria physics
Couldn't you just switch the rocket from the actual rocket launcher with another model?
you have just reminded me of a mod for gta vc stories for psp where you could target a ped and they would be pulled towards you and when you let go of the aim button they were threw away from you

With the mod methods we have available for ps3, I don't know if it's possible to make anything besides a projectile come out of a weapon, plus the peds will probably be scared off by shooting it. If it were possible, it would also most likely have to be a mod within the rpf files which rules out using the latest patch (which isn't much of a big deal depending on how you want to play)
But with a script, if you get object spawning + flinging to work, it wouldn't be much more work to use GET_CURRENT_CHAR_WEAPON to only enable the spawner when you are using specific weapon(s). Then you could use a non-firing button combo like L2 + X to spawn the object, so you would effectively have a weapon that "shoots" objects.
Is there anyone I could request this too? I'm not bothered about online play at all, and the patches don't really matter to me, I'll have a separate ps3 for that
The negative force gun mod demonstrated in that video can be done through common rpf modding. (obviously doesn't work online w/ps3)
I wrote a car launcher mod. One that creates a car and launches it in the direction of the players heading and another where the nearest car will launch in the Dpad direction you press.

I have some free time in a few weeks, Ill see if I can get cars/objects to launch in the direction the player is aiming.
That would be great! Being able to shoot random objects that I choose would be amazing!
Can you list any specific objects you want to have available? You probably won't know the model names for them but that's fine, a list is just so a wanted object doesn't get left out.
Right now I have a very very basic script that spawns a MODEL_BM_drum_tox above your head then throws it in the player heading direction. It doesn't factor the pitch yet, but I'm pretty sure I already know how I'm going to do that. The biggest hangup I had was figuring out that a WAIT(10) was needed before APPLY_FORCE_TO_OBJECT to get it to actually move.
