i finally managed to get a working script, i compiled the code in the first post put down to version 1.0.4.0 and voila like magic it worked, thank you JDMAlex for the code, at least i now know that i just need to learn more about c/c++ and the way in which gta deals with things
oh and the SpawnVehicle function i don't know if its buggy or if it simply doesn't support helis but i tried to spawn a police maverick with it and the game locked up the ps3 except for sound which was still playing

tomorrow afternoon I will release new code with new stuff.. sometimes it freezes sometimes it doesn't.. when it comes to testing you gotta make sure your not using mods.. I keep a clean ver of GTA for this reason.. makes it easy to tell where its causing problems... that is the fine art of modding.. there is no set instructions/rules... its a big puzzle

you could setup a virtual machine to use windows programs, i have a vm on windows for linux programs, if the process on both platforms is about the same then i promise its not as daunting as it sounds

what if all i want is a drift mod what do i need to do?
-
03-06-2012,05:26 AM
a drift mod can be done without script mods all you need is openiv and a text editor, inside common(d)rpf you'll find a file full of vehicle control settings, i can't remember the name of the file but search up drift mod you'll soon turn up what i'm talking about
(d) means dot / full-stop
