GTA IV Eternal Loading Screen When Modding

Hi guys,
I'm having a problem when i attempt to mod GTA by switching the update.img file out of the 1.06 update with a modified one. I am using a backed up American BLUS-30127 with an Australian console (I should be using EUR BLES-00229). Unfortunately i lost me legit copy :(.
So what happens is, after i replace the update.img, i go to boot the game and it just keeps loading the images with the whore and the lollipop ect. The longest i left it for was an hour before turning the console off.
I don't get this problem until i switch the update.img. I am running off internal HDD on rogero 4.30 v2.05.

Any help will be greatly appreciated :)

delete the game data and let it reinstall

@otherchris GTA 4 updated to 1.06 only works off of external.. The only way on internal to get past the never ending loading screen is to run without updating..trophies won't work

why is it no longer n00bs doing this? its not good that people that have been on these forums for a while don't know where to post or they forget to read the rules because after a few months of being here they think they know them all, without realising that each subforum has its own subset of rules, guys please pay more attention in future otherwise the n00bs will see more seasoned members doing it and think its ok despite the rules
