How do i install a trainer on gta 4 ?

you should always follow instructions provided by developer !

usualy it goes like this :

optional steps :
sometimes when you install a .pkg and/or replace .img over old game data & saves can give you a infinite loading screen problem ...

- Delete already installed GTA 4 game data
- Delete GTA 4 save files and profile settings ( back-up thoses you want to keep to a usb stick )
note: you may skip thoses steps , but keep that info in mind if you get infinite loading.

GTA IV
- install latest trainer .pkg using your CFW " package manager "
or
- replace proper files in proper folders ...
here examples ( note : check your game id , mine is blus30127 )
a) update.img ... goes in : /dev_hdd0/game/blus30127/usrdir/
b) script.img and/or script_network. img ... goes in : / blus30127/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/common/data/cdimages

GTA EFLC
- install latest trainer .pkg using your CFW " package manager "
or
- replace proper files in proper folders ...
here examples ( note : check your game id , mine is blus30524 )
a) DLC1 or TLAD script.img and/or script_network. img ... goes in : / blus30524/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DLC1/DLC/common/data/cdimages
b) DLC2 or TBOGT script.img and/or script_network. img ... goes in : / blus30524/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DLC2/DLC/common/data/cdimages

I get a " infinite loading " screen , what did i do wrong ?

try deleting your " game data " and " save files " ... sometimes .pkg install corrupt it ( unknown reason )

- delete game data & savefiles ( backup save you want to keep )
- load game (it re-install game data )
- quit game
- re-install . pkg ( or replace files )
- re-load game

How do i add mods to the trainer via " modslot's " feature ?

at this point you need to be sure the trainer you use support " modslot " , if it does follow thoses steps ...

update.img :
- use ftp or mm file manager to grab update.img from installed game data in : /dev_hdd0/game/blus30127usrdir/update.img
- rename the . sco file you want to add to trainer : modslot01.sco
- use openiv to open update.img and add modslot01.sco to it ( you dont replace any file , you ADD modslot01.sco )
- use ftp or mm filemanager to put back update.img into : /dev_hdd0/game/blus30127usrdir/

script.img and/or script_network. img :
- use ftp or mm file manager to grab .img's from your game back-up in : / blus30127/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/common/data/cdimages
- rename the . sco file you want to add to trainer : modslot01.sco
- use openiv to open .img's and add modslot01.sco to it ( you dont replace any file , you ADD modslot01.sco )
- use ftp or mm filemanager to put back .img's into : / blus30127/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/common/data/cdimages

now your added modslot01.sco can be activated via modslot menu in trainer .
note : i didnt go into details on how to properly use ftp , mm filemanager , openiv for theres plenty of tutorials on how to use them.

you need 2 ps3, one on CFW and another on OFW.

How do i learn to code script ?

you will need to search the net for tutorial on C language ... dont worry theres plenty of them.

Important note:
- this post shall be updated with more info's if needed.
- any moderator / developer can edit this post with corrections or more info's.
- if anyone write a better F.A.Q tutorial , PM me ... ill edit this post with it and give proper credits.

We ave helped some play EFLC on PSN, however that was all with it on HDD(bought @ PSNstore). GTA IV has the 106 update, which makes it possible to ave mods with a disc(by changing the update.img of the installed 106 package). EFLC has no update like dat so...
You will ave to buy it first from PSN.
There are advantages to this method...like having mo mods(img and rpf). Thinkin of buying at PSN for this purpose? I would buy Complete...
It has it all and you can mod it by changing the script.img and script_network.imgs of DLC 1 and 2 and replacing the update.img of IV. And you could ave rpf mods(visual ISH only!)

yeah thats what i noticed with the 106 update on gta iv and not on tbogt disc thats why im stuck.
would it be just easyier to download load it from psstore.

For it to work on OFW you must buy it. I tired booting from XMB on OFW and that was a total fail.
Once you ave it then 2 data transfers. 1st to the CFW PS3, to mod the game, then back to OFW.

Yah, once you download it. Just data transfer it to your JB ps3 and update the script files and then just transfer it back. After you data transfer it back to your OFW, log into the account that you used to buy it, go into account management and do the system activation. Then just load the game and have fun.
