Did you try the PAL version hack on the NTSC version? A lot of the PAL codes also work on NTSC games, like the Shattered Memories PAL code works on the NTSC version, and so does Kingdom Hearts II PAL.

Also, about the Kingdom Hearts II ELF hack, it works for Kingdom Hearts II -Final Mix- but the characters on the pause menu are smaller than normal. Nemesis, can you fix it?
    I'm no noob, I just don't post much :P

Yes, I have noticed that some of the hacks are the same.
In this case my search for the hex-values gave me nothing I'm afraid

Thanks for trying to help mrjared

Perhaps it's the setting where you are searching for these hex values?

    For example,

    1. I use HxD. mh-nexus
    2. On the menu, I go to SEARCH.
    3. I then select FIND.
    4. Under the dropdown box for Datatype, I select Hex-values.
    5. I then paste the string of code I am looking for, and then press OK.

    Hopefully that helps?

HxD also has the Replace feature. You make sure you set the Datatype to Hex-Values and pretty much it will find and replace the hex code strings. That's another cool feature.

Plus HxD has the ability to create a backup of your file and then generates a new edited version. So if you screw up, all it's safe.

Firstly, it's awesome that you responded to my question. You've been such an asset to the community. Keep it up!

I have done many of the elf-hacks already. I have followed the steps you mentioned above, and I promise you, for this particular game it does not work. It really does look like the NTSC and Pal version's ELF files are different in some aspect.

    What can one do next?

@ennohex - You could try finding the value "00000000 00000000 43AD1346 00000000" and changing it to "403F013C 00008144 43AD1346 02C60046". It is a widescreen value that is common in some different PS2 games so maybe it will work.

@Ichisuke - I don't know how to convert them from hex to cheat engine, and you can't use hex in ps2rd or codebreaker. Did you try just using the hex instead?

I think I goofed up. I think I was answering the question about how to find the hex values in the HEX ISO method--for the other type of the wide-screen hack method found here: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f293/ps2...s-only-105475/

    Sorry.

You can't use hex codes with ps2rd or codebreaker. You have to use the codes found in the .pnach file that
nemesis provided in his website, for Grandia 3. As well, you need to use a master code along with the codes.

But just for you, here it is.

    Grandia 3 NTSC

    Master Code
    9A2C442C 18FE8924
    DA7DD6DD B25ABAA9
    2AE322A4 24020001

    Widescreen Code
    0013b450 3c033f27
    0013b4a0 3c013f40
    0013b4a4 4481a000
    0013b4a8 46146d83
    0013b4ac 46007546
    0013b4b0 46007e86

I haven't tested this as I don't have the actual game, but perhaps you can test it for us, Ichisuke and
    give us the results. Thanks.

    A humble request for:
scps-15054 - ChainDive (sometimes reffered to as "Chain Dive")
A hidden gem. Itīs Strider 2 meets Castlevania/spiderman web slinging meets Psychic Force.
No knowledge of Japanese is needed to understand this game
    Official site: http://www.jp.playstation.com/softwa...scps15054.html
    http://youtu.be/zcwNyMysty0
This game would really benefit from 16:9. either pnach, ps3rd codebreaker or hex edit.

    EDIT: fixed the links

    Here's some more codes.
As usual, I confirm all of these to be actually working on a physical ps2.
And as always, all credit goes towards to finders of these codes.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time NTSC (SLUS-20743)

    Master Code
    9A6C4740 18BEEFD8
    Widescreen Code
    004b50ac 3c023f10
    004b5104 3c02402b

    Dark Cloud 2 NTSC (SCUS-97213)

    Master Code
    9ADC44BF 180EAE8F
    Widescreen Code
    00138d78 3f023f40

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 NTSC (SLUS-21810)

    Master Code
    F016D940 0016D943
    Widescreen Code
    002a4310 3c033f40

Wild Arms Alter Code F NTSC (SLUS_209.37)
    *requires render fix, graphical pop-ins

    Master Code
    9AAC4788 18747B68

    Widescreen Code
    00118e68 3c023f40
    00118d9c 3c023f40
    00118f44 3c023f40
    00118f14 3c033f40
    00118f58 3c0243d9
    00118f28 3c034505
    001191a0 3c064455
    00118af0 3c024455

TMNT 3 Mutant Nightmare NTSC (SLUS_211.84)

    Master Code
    9011E2A0 00832021

    Widescreen Code
    0028fd80 3c023f1e
    0028fdb0 3c023fe3
    0028fdb8 34428e38

It should be noted that the only games that haven't worked so far for me are Okami and Disgaea:Hour of Darkness using nemesis2000's .pnach codes. Both games lock up during boot-up if you use the widescreen codes. The only way to play both games in widescreen on a ps2 are to hex edit the entire .iso file.
