Actually it doesn't crash, but somehow the in-game "gravity" is messed up when entering the next room. You can see the character sliding away in one direction if you changed the fov value only a tiny little bit

miseru99 created an excellent patcher that solves the problem, but obviously a different solution is needed for ps2
Personally, I like PNACH patches and ELF patches since they're simple and clean (although sometimes hard to find ). I don't like having to use special programs like the ICO patcher or the WSH, not least because the can't be used on a real PS2 of course...

Are the codes in the fancy table thing encrypted or raw? I tried it as is and tried to encrypt it and use that, but in both cases Devil May Cry 3 SE refuses to boot.
Do I have to find a special Master Code? There is already one in the CB database.
I guess I could try using HDL next time.
I have MODE 3 ("Unhook Syscalls"), and MODE 6 ("Disable IGR") active for the game in OPL.

    A) Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition SLUS_213.61

    B) Codebreaker HDL patched

    C) OPL

    D) I don't even know what that means.

You will have to decrypted the master code and re enter it to make it work and like it said on front page not yet test on real ps2 so may not work
all codes must be decrypted so RAW codes only work best

So I just take the existing master code and decrypt it? Will it matter that I have two Master Codes enabled?
Should I make a new game entry?

Edit: I'm gonna make a new game entry and use this for my Master Code and then use the code for Widescreen, as it appears in the initial post.
    Code:
    C:\cb2util>cb2util -t cbc -d dmc3se.cbc
"Devil May Cry 3-Dante's Awakening-Special Edition"
    Enable Code (Must Be On)
    BEEFC0DE 00000000
    000FFFFE 000001BF

    But BEEFC0DE sounds delicious.

Also, I can confirm the DMC3SE code working on a real PS2.

    A) Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition SLUS_213.61

    B) Codebreaker HDL patched

    C) OPL

    D) I don't even know what that means.

I can also confirm Ys VI if that means anything, but the game drops certain actors/geometry if you are too far away and you have to be careful because the screen transition trigger isn't at the edge of the screen anymore.
You might want to specify OPL was used for DMC3SE.

Are those CB Codes or something or do I have to edit the files in the Disc Image?

Are you saying I have to edit the boot ELF of my PS2 or are you just saying that the ELF file is what the PS2 uses for executable?

Either way I'm gathering the answer is that nemesis's page are for editing the files on the disc.

If it is that I have to edit something on the PS2 itself I might just consider my own loss.
