    I have hyakki's Fatal Frame 2 .pnach and tried to use the codes with CodeBreaker 9.3 on a retail PSTwo and either it didn't work... or I did it wrong. I'm thinking the latter, lol. Can someone else give it a go and if it works, tell me how the hell to do it? :P

    ..No wonder people are having trouble with patching KH1, everytime an address is tampered with it tries to change it back to its own value. Any suggestions?

    Sounds like the code is writing the value on each frame. Some assembly analysis would be needed to find that code and force it to write the desired value instead.

    This is what I tried to no avail. Maybe someone else can get it working?

    Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly
    SLUS-20766
    CB 9.3 Patched -> ESR
    MC: F0100008 0023C917
    WS: 204000DC 3F400000

    Edit: I also tried the codes for Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories listed on the first page, which also did not work. Can someone write up a damn tutorial for this crap? I put the codes in CodeBreaker 9.3, enable them, "start" the game, ESR loads, start the game, no widescreen. I am using component cables, but do I need to be using GSM or something to force 480p to get the widescreen codes working? My TV has two viewing options when the games start.... Full or 4:3. Full simply stretches the image to fit and 4:3 is the same old 4:3 as without the widescreen codes.

    Why aren't these working for me?

    To let you know I have not and most people here have not tried with ESR patched games
    The few I have tried with ESR lockup and like tried only twice might be the problem
    If you notice they say OPL tested or Official DVD tested

    Some codes just do not work with PS2 while they are ok with PCSX2. (In fact some cheat codes do work with PS2 and do not work with PCSX2 but we have no memory debugger on ps2 to find new codes). That is why on the first page some codes say not tested in ps2.

    Another reason might be the region problems. For example if you have codebreaker with NTSC master codes and you write the PAL widescreen code it won't work. Mastercode, widescreen code and the game itself must be in the same region.
    Please contact me if you can make a PS2 VGA cable with SoG stripping. All costs will be covered by me.

    I ordered a 4-pin Firewire cable yesterday. I plan to attempt to do some work similar to the Cheat Engine work that's been done, but on a real system (thanks to KERMIT DBGCORE and live memory editing). That way, if I find a working code, by definition we know it'll work on hardware.

    I'm having trouble making FFX work with ps2rd. I inputted everything properly in the cheats file too. I open ulaunchelf, boot ps2rd, insert the FFX dvd, then I press circle for auto-select cheats and a msg comes saying FFX cheat activated (I also hear a sound inside the ps2 which I assume indicate that the cheats are activated), then I press start. What am I doing wrong..? My TV is also in 16:9 Widescreen setting. I tried the 16:9 setting on PS2 also. Nothing is working.
