Yea mine is english patched and worked great but only tried a gummi mission and a few worlds so don't know if it will cause other problems
Hope it don't :D
Sorry for budding in, I use Codebreaker 10, and if you press the right d-pad on the Enable Code (must be on) for every game entry codebreaker has, you can see the mastercode.
saying that, I think we just need to add a new code entry for that game that would say 16:9 (or something). And then add in the code and save the settings.
I don't know if Codebreaker 9.3 is different, but I just wanted to share that.
Yea if you already have the master code then just add the 16:9 that is all but using 9.3 myself and don't have all the PS2 codes
but do have most :D
Just an update this seems to work with CB encrypted codes too just add 16:9 code
but only tested with Draken Guard so far :D
According to reprep it's not quite as easy, since the codes must be of the same code type. I assume the mastercodes coming with Codebreaker are CB encrypted, while the widescreen hack codes in the PCSX2 patch files are raw hex codes. So you either need to decrypt the mastercode or encrypt the widescreen code (preferably the former, at least that's the way we should share the codes).
Or is this decryption/encryption not necessary (I didn't try mixing different code types)?
True mine are RAW of course just tested it with CB encrypted and RAW and it worked perfectly couldn't guess why thou lol
Well found out something I don't like some codes do not work with CB 10 HD patch but I have heard it uses wrong Memory space so
probably why KH2FM+ eng will not work with it but CB 9.3 will funny I choose 9.3 for main test and then use 10 found out
Resident Evil - Code Veronica X (SLUS_201.84)
Codebreaker 9.2 (HDL patched)
mastercode (RAW): 9011166C 0C048FF6
widescreen hack by hyakki (RAW): 21128700 3F400000
Simple 2000 Series Vol. 101: The Oneechanpon (SLPS_204.66)
Codebreaker 9.2 (HDL patched)
mastercode (RAW): F01001B8 0000000E
widescreen hack by synce (RAW): 20495104 3F400000
Both games seem to work nicely in 16:9, with menus and other 2D stuff stretched of course. In RE Code Veronica X sometimes objects that are out of the 4:3 area are not rendered, but it doesn't seem to happen often.
Well it is always better to post RAW master codes and RAW widescreen codes for universal compatibility. Also for example Final Fantasy X NTSC-J International edition master code is not present in CB 9.3 database. Only NTSC-U master code can be found which does not work. Also according to dlanor some master codes do not work with hdl patched CB when they are perfectly fine with disc version. Also you can't mix and match (Encrypted master code and raw Widescreen code) as far as i know, though i didn't verify this myself. you can use omniconvert for every kind of code conversion out there, it supports more formats and it is newer than cb2crypt. do not forget to use version 7+ CB when choosing input or output.
Did anyone try PCSX2 Widescreen Helper (a program by hyakki)? I am too lazy to boot windows 7 and run pcsx2 on my old laptop after i am so used to linux. I am especially interested in kingdom hearts 1 NTSC-U as it is the only kingdom hearts game left. I might do some research on weekend.
Also thanks a lot for the reports here. I will edit the first post and post these there. Please continue to write what hack program you used (CB 9.2 etc)
