Argh,... I don't know where I placed my PS2-Link 1.51/1.52-Version and currently only tried it with PS2-Link 1.30 and had the same problem, as iCEQB.
Can someone attach the working PS2-ELF + PC-Client?
I uploaded everything you need to run this emulator (don't forget to laod the module first as ffgriever showed how!)
Regards,
iCEQB
That's it ! FF8 is running from my internal HDD, using radshell and PS2PSXe stored on my MC, all I've got to do is launch radshell and shortly after FF8 starts ! This is the closer my dead-lense PS2 has ever been to the ability of playing any normally compatible disc format from HDD/LAN !
I'm leaving today, but when I return I'm gonna test this, even though ffgriever won't have use for it, but this is really exciting !
THX, iCEQB.
I got it working with your files, but I had to download "pthreadgc2.dll" and place it into my system32-dir, to lat PS2-Link work correctly.
I attached the file, in case anyone needs it.
Result of observation&"first-look": Impressive!
Works quite good for a preview.
Only tried it with Bloody Roar: Hyper Beast Duell PAL and Alone in the dark (4): The new nightmare.
Edit: Just tested "Blade" and it seems to work without bigger graphical glitches.
Simply impressive to see an image of a PS1-Game loading on the PS2.
Master, can be explained in more detail how to run ps2psxe.elf
I use the machine SCPH-70012 - FMCB 1.5 - Toshiba 8Gb Pen Drive with ULe 4.42 (BOOT.ELF) in BOOT folder, after entering Ule, I run ps2psxe.elf and I get a blank screen.
Sorry for my bad english.
Thanks.
@raja games:
First,... Your FMCB-Version is obsolete and I suggest you to update.
Second,... You have to start the emu through PS2-Link (LAN), or with RAD-Shell.
The way to start it through a PS2-Client-GUI with PS2-Link is as follows.
-start PS2-Link on your PS2.
-start "PS2Client Frontend"
-load the IOMANX.IRX
-load the PS2PSXE.ELF
-a little window will pop up and ask you, with which arguments to start this ELF.
There you enter, what ffgriever explained in his release-post, for example "-cdimage=host:/1.ccd" (without quotes), to load a CCD-Image with the name "1.ccd" from the same folder, where PS2-Client is located at.
ffgriever, thank you for the preview.
I have a problem, i started the ps2link that iCEQB uploaded(thank you), it gives me no error and stay ready, but when i want to load the iomanx.irx it does nothing. I try to load like ffgriever says, i don't know whats happening.
I wonder if this could have anything to do with the version of PS2Link you're using.
Remember that ffgriever warned against using the latest ones, as they do not preload the IOMANX module like older PS2Link versions did, which would force you to use an explicit command to load that module before you can use any of the simple launch examples for the emulator.
The better choice is of course to make sure that you use an older PS2Link version that does load IOMANX automatically, such as the "PS2Link v1.51" which was included in an attachment I made not long ago in the OPL forum, for making debug logs in OPL testing.
That same attachment also includes a suitable version of ps2client (the same I use in my own tests of PS2PSXe).
Another possibility why it might seem not to work is if your TV set disables the picture for a PAL signal, like I know some US TV sets do. If that is your problem, and you still want to avoid the issues of setting the emulator to knowingly use NTSC, then you can try using GSM to enforce NTSC instead (or other video modes for that matter). I'm doing that right now (to test it for you), running PAL FF8 in enforced NTSC, so it displays without the usual black borders of the PAL version.
Best regards: dlanor
I have no sound running PS1 games is that correct?
@dlanor: thanks for the batfile.
After a few runs with the emu i got this:
And the emu wouldn't run anymore, any ideas?Code:Pad1 initalization failed!
@ffgriever, great job, respect
Edit: it's running again, problem was on my side...
