    Yepp, all.
    With Artemis, there are theoretically many things possible.

    For example, you can stream all RAM-Data on the fly also to USB (file-dump), or for example, while the game is running you can stream all RAM-Content over Network/LAN to your PC.

    The possibilitys of Artemis are not even closely discovered yet.
    (Same goes for FMCB,... I believe, there are a few things possible, which people donīt even thought about yet,...)

    i hope, if more emulators will come out it would be nice, like some ps2 optimized MAME, i cant seem to imagine other stuff, anything you'd like to share of what kind of "high-quality-home-brew" you were thinking about lol?
    - For example 1 Open-Source-Game-Loader, with support for all devices + extra-options like IGR, V-Mode-Force, VirtualMC and so on.

    -Another example,... PS1-Emulator by ffgriever.

    -Project Artemis and all possible effects, it might have in/on the Homebrew-Scene.

    I even believe, that if there are enough out there who help with Artemis + those on PS2-DEV which constantly update the drivers, or those which post samples for grafical stuff,...
    That we maybe one day have an Open-Source-3D-Engine for the PS2.
    ...and even if it come out in 2, 3, or 4 years.
    It still would be something big.

    Imagine,... The worlds most sold console is open in 95% of all cases (FMCB). <-- 95% of all consoles.
    What if only 1% of those really use Homebrew, or come to the scene within the next years.

    An open 3D-Engine is possible and it would be the PERFECT entry for those, who want to start it professional/in Business.
    Itīs a beginning to learn with. Be it at Hardware-Level-Programming, or at graphical programming.

    2D and 3D is possible. O.K.,... It doesnīt support the newest effects and maybe isnīt HD, but itīs a very cool start for those which wanna make it professional.

    @dlanor: THX for the update.

    @dj: It can be possible.
    Earlier SM-Versions afaik could ONLY load PS2-Discs.

    But it CAN be possible, that the "Double-Swap" (EJECT SM-Disc with Tray-Button, change to PS1-Original with a high TOC and now do the Swap-trick) works for newer versions + the Double-Swap still only works on V9+.
    Still, I couldnīt test it. I donīt have one of those available + I think my FATs will hate me. ^^

    The Double-Swap, youīre talking about is the fast swapping while the PS1-Logo, right?
    That is a time-swap (with I belive 3 swaps overall), where what Iīm talkin about the swapping is not bound to a time and it is only one real "swap" in the overall process. The PS2-Disc is ejected and the PS1-Original is inserted with the normal EJECT-Button-Usage. Thus, it is a disc-change and no swap, but it is still famous for this name,... even thought the original name is only matching the double-(time-)swap from PS1.

    I've been in touch with ffgriever who says that he definitely wants to complete the PS2PSXe project, though he can't say exactly when he can take that work up again. His other work will allow him some time for such projects again starting a couple of weeks from now, but he is not yet sure if PS2PSXe can be the first of those projects, as he may have to do some other stuff first.

    This is pretty much as I had guessed the situation to be, so I don't expect any releases soon. Some new beta might appear within the month, but any public release will almost certainly take much longer. The PS2PSXe project has been on hold for well over a year, and it is bound to take even ffgriever some time to reacquaint himself with it, after almost fifteen months of unrelated work.

    Best regards: dlanor

    I'm sure this isn't what most people wanted to hear, but it is what is going on with the project.

    Thanks Dlanor for the update. We all just need to find stuff to do till then. and be happy that it is still on FFG's mind to finish. I personally am setting up a new HTPC system, and the way I work at stuff the emulator will be done before it is.

    patience young grasshoppers...

    Great to hear ffgriever is willing to finish PS2PSXe... Until then, there are a lot of other things to do with a PS2, so let's all be patient
