PS2 Slim + HDTV -- Any tips on increasing picture quality?
PS2 Slim + HDTV -- Any tips on increasing picture quality? –

Hey guys,
I have a PS2 slim hooked up to a Samsung 22" HDTV/Monitor via Sony component cables, but I was wondering if there was any other solution to increasing picture quality? I already know the difference between component versus RGB is like night and day for the PS2 on a HDTV, but would really like a way for it to "upscale" somehow possibly. I may be asking for the impossible, but I'm fine with that. Any help would be great, thanks!

I dont think so
PS2 video output is mainly analog only
analog video res are 480i & 480p
PS2 has no upscale feature

Actually there is a third party application that does let you run games at higher resolutions. Xploder HDTV. It's compatible with many games and has many resolution options. I have an extra copy I'm willing to part with for $10 plus shipping. (Only if you are in the US that is.)

That would be a nice combo with a vga adaptor and my 20 inch widescreen flat panel... ^_^ Though I wish I had a projector... *drools at: http://www.proviewdigital.com/IN1.html*
