D4v3WTF it is very interesting information you submitted. Can you make photo of tv screen ---it is just interests me like how it looks on HDTV?
Also what interests me is---Do you have black boarders on the edges of TV---or PS2toHDMi fills in the HDTV display area completely ?
Rikimaru is this really true ? Is it possible to solder ps2 plug to WiitoHDMI ????
I think there must be different pins---probably it wont work? Have you really done it ??? Can you make some Photos of device ???? It is just very interesting to see..
How you decided to make such mod ? Like before to solder ps2 plug to WiitoHDMI ---have you had thoughts that it can not work ??? How did you do soldering---like how did you know which pin must be soldered ????????
Looks much more better in 480p I would say ..... No jaggedness in 480p....

1 Attachment(s)
When I bought it I just assumed I can make it. And it worked.
av:wii_multi_av_pinout [NFG Games + GameSX]
Connectors - PS3 Development Wiki
Just solder Yr Pb Pr, L R audio and +5 pins from PS cable to Wii2HDMI. GND too of course.
+5 Volts in PS Multi out is insufficient though. I got +5 from PS2 USB.
Attachment 40505

But wait a second---I think it has to work also with all interlaced games for ps2---WiitoHDMI must without problems accept 480i and 576i ---can you depict what kind of problems do exist ?????
I have to agree with you that one day all analog signals will disappear ---everything will be HDMI. Already all analog TV Broadcasting are switched off ---next step---Radio will become Digital? then Phone also will become fully digital---thats why we have to prepare for Digital age---and also I think it is nice to have PS2 connected to HDMI.
So in general I can say that you created First in History PS2-HDMI-Cable. I assume you have taken Component cable for PS2, cut off RCA plugs ---then found out proper pins layout and soldered to WIItoHDMI...... Very nice to my opinion.
Have you ever tried PS2toHDMI Device ???? If so what is your opinion about it ?
Also probably you have Wii at home if you bought WiitoHDMI---or you bought it because you planned in advance to create such nice cable for ps2 ????
What you can say about Upconversion to 1080P---do you think that WiitoHDMI ----is really making Upconversion to 1080P ?????
I can notice from your picture that it really produce nice picture through the cable you created....
So it means that +5 volts is not enough to feed WiitoHDMI ???? I know that before +5 Volts was used to feed RF Modulator for PS2 or PS1. Probably thats why Creators of PS2toHDMI used power from front USB-Port--because +5Volts in AV Multi out does not have enough power to supply WiitoHDMI fully....
I think here is proper AV Multi out pin-out for ps2:
http://pinouts.ru/Home/PlayStationAV_pinout.shtml
http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/psxav.htm
So according to pin-out from from the address--you tried to have +5 volts from pin 10. I remember myself that all pins responsible for Y Pb Pr are 9 --11 --- and 12.
Did you try to use GSM in conjunction with the Cable you created in order to turn on 480P ???? If so did it help to solve game compatibility --- game compatibility for Interlaced games ????
What is the most interesting thing----you do not have black borders---looks like your cable fills in all the Display Area....
Do you have PAL or NTSC version of PS2 ????

I already posted which kind of problem can be visible with interlaced signal in some games (RE4 comparison). I think it has problems with games which have internal resolution with non-square pixels. GSM helps, but DW DX values must be modified. RE4 has 480p option itself.
I have Wii, but I bought it to make a PS2 HDMI adapter. Never tried commercial PS2toHDMI. I cut SCART cable because I want +5 from Multi out, but it can not be used after all. So component cable can be used too.
Wii2HDMI I bought on dx really upscales signal to 720/1080p (switchable). Converter does not have 4:3 16:9 options, fills all pixels. TV can control that.
-
Thanks to God---so it only jaggedness ?? I thought that it can not display interlaced games---I thought this is the problem..... So it means that your cable can display all games---progressive and interlace all the time---no black screen ??? Cool. then your cable is really nice one....
Did you try to change aspect ratio in BIOS of PS2 ????? I think there are three options in BIOS----- FULL--4x3----16x9 ...
If you tried to change aspect ratio---which results it did produce ?????
Actually one question---WiitoHDMI can only accept---480i/480p/576i ---but can it accept 720p ??? It is just SMS can send 720p signal---what if to try to send to it 720p...:chinscrat probably it wont accept it--because WiitoHDMI was designed to accept from Wii only 480i/480p/576i.....

Hey SkyNet,
Sorry but I can't make any photos right now. Later this evening I make a few. The HDV-G300 can't full screen the picture. There are some black frames on the sides, at the top and at the bottom. All about 2 - 4 cm. My HDTV can zoom the picture but that's not the best thing.
-
It accepts 480i/p, 576i (not p), 720p, and 1080i if I remember correctly. But has weird pixel jittering in 1 place in 720p and 1080i. Maybe because cable I used is not shielded and has wires inside adapter next to inductor. I made it this way because I want compatibility with Wii too.
It accepts some VGA modes, but with wrong colors.
If internal resolution of game is 512x448 then you will see upscale/deinterlace artefacts like that RE4 picture.

D4v3WTF would be nice to see it. Thank you very much that you decided to share your experience with PS2toHDMI. I am really appreciative to you for all the info you submitted. I think it is very important for the community to know it. I am really want to hear more info about it. It really interests me a lot.
Rikimaru but did you try to send 720p to it ???? Also as I understand---you connected it simultaneously to Wii and to PS2 ??? So like you do use one device with both consoles ????
Also can you tell me how you did take +5 volts from front port of ps2 ??? How did you solder it to WiitoHDMI ????
Did you use cheap Component cable for ps2 ??? Actually why it can accept VGA--because Component connections have similar sync timings----but they do not have similar Colors---thats why colors are strange. So better send to it Component signal only.
512x448---it looks like lower on width resolution---interesting thing---which resolution do have Wii Games ?????
-
I tried 720p and 1080i in GSM I think. I did not try to connect PS2 and Wii simultaneously but this can work maybe (only when 1 console is powered). I do not want to try though.
I just soldered +5 from USB connector to Wii2HDMI. You can see cable on picture above.
Most Wii games have 640x448 resolution I think. But almost every game support 480p.
-
Rikimaru you soldered only one wire--which is +5 volts from USB port of PS2 to WiitoHDMI--or also some other wires ?
Maybe thats why jaggedness happens--is because video-resolution of ps2 games is lower ??? Maybe devs of WiitoHDMI thought that input resolution will be all the time--640x448 ??? So they tuned WiitoHDMI to always upscale only 640x448 to 720p/1080p????
So if change 480i to 480p with help of GSM or If game itself do support 480p---then it helps to remove jaggedness ????
